I like the rockford amps a lot in fact i'm about to put some in my car, and the subs are pretty good but not my favorite. I know people will go against my on the following, but I really love Alpine subs particularly the Type R. Its got really tight bass and is very versatile between different genres of music

Type-Rs are very nice subs, but if he is going to a W7 money he prob could get a BTL, BL, **** even a LMS5400 15, SI Mag, IDmax, a lot of choices that would be better.

i have 2 rockford 10's in the rear of my civic cx hatch, i run them off a more than ample jbl amp, and i am satisfied with the pound they can put out, i run jbl 6.5 in the rear as well that are amped off a smaller amp. sounds good, not crazy $$

a 10w7 will definately get the job done let alone a 12

if i could afford a 500/1 and a 10w7, i would get it.
im using a 300/2 JL bridged to 2 10' rockford subs

Hell the 8W7's sound bad *** in the H.O. boxes. The 12 was great the only problem I had with it was it's sheer size. I mean the sub alone weighed around 50lbs then the box I made for it weighed a *** load also because the front baffle needs to be 3/4 to an inch thick. It would **** though and excelled forevery application I used it for but it loved power. I juiced it for a couple months with a modded mmats 1400.2 and was feeding it around 1800rms(took a extra battery and a H.O. alternator to do so) but in the end i think I liked it most in a sealed box with around 1200rms on it. I highly suggest a W6V2 for people that do not have the means to buy the correct amps and componets to compete with it.

man i tell you what screw rockford fosgate! when you consider jls you understand you are gonna get the best despite what all these dudes say. but then there is serious cash involved!!!! if you want the best system hand down get a 13in w7. you look at this and say a 13 in sub???? yes sir it is and this ****er is awesome. jus get one and a jl 1000 watt amp. the rerason these are so good is most subs are 2ohm or 4ohm load and cant handle super low frequencies bc of there ohm rating. these jl subs and amp are 4ohm -1.5ohm! yeah the sub is 700 dollars but seriosly you get what you pay for. you will never need to buy something ever again thats it you will be 100% satisfied. no one with another system can even touch you if they have 3 subs 4 subs or whatever. you can get the amp and sub for around 1400. you will need 0awg wire and i recommend at least 2.0 farad cap. yes serious money but you will never have to worry bout upgrading again and you wont be dissapointed. oh and then there is a custom box to build which needs done by a proffesional to insure its all good on dimensions and tuned properly to maximize the sound quality

Honestly the W7's are a bit to much for most people. I suggest the W6V2's for people that are looking for something that gets loud enough for you to want to turn it down but yet you can play around with it and get it to mesh well with the rest of your system. Like I said I had a 12W7 and very very expenseive front stage(seas lotus comps) and I had a xtant 1.1 amp on each side of my front stage(one 1.1 for the front left and one 1.1 for the front right) and I had a JBL/Crown BPX 1100.1 on the W7 and man it was simply to much bass no matter how much i tried to adjust it out of it.
