Just asking for some opinions
I decided that I want to start a sound system in my 96' civic and I would appreciate if u guys give some opinions on some things. First off what differences between a 2ohms and a 4 ohms subs. I decided that I wanted to go with two 12's alpine type R subs but theres a differences in the ohms. Also what speakers and amp would you guys consider buying to go along with these 2 subs. Thx for the help.
In all honesty you don't have to go with all the same company for it to be any easy install. I've been working with a friend of mine doing installs for the past few years and the easiest one we ever did was a $500 Pioneer Premier H/U, 2 2" Xtant X series subs powered by a 1000watt HiFonics Zeus Amp, and Ifinity Kappa speakers powered by an alpine amp. That install was WAY easier than another system we did that was full Pioneer, not to meantion is sounded WAY better. What you have to do when looking for an amp for the subs is an amp that will produce enough power at what the subs are meant for. It is getting even easier now, because many amps are starting to use regulated power supplies (like my Phoenix Gold which will power 400 watts at 4, 2, or 1 ohm). It basically makes it dumby proof to match a sub to an amp...Any amp that puts out atleast 1000 watts rms should power those subs pretty well (RF/PG/HiFonics/Xtant/JL/MTX......etc). Speakers are more up to how much you want to spend. You could go with a set of $450 Alpine Type X's (I wouldnt recommend it), or some $10 Jensens (I wouldn't recommend that either), just go with what sounds good.
i have 2 type r 12's with an alpine v12 series 1000w amp. it powers them enough for me, but you could go bigger. i only payed $260 for both on ebay. amp i got from onlinecarstereo. as far as the ohm's i dont really know, i just went with 2. make sure whatever u get, get the same ohms on both subs
Hmm well i am going stick with the 2ohms then and imma get the SONY XM-D6000GTX 1400w amp and probably gonna get ECLIPSE SE8365 6.5" 3WAY SPEAKERS and ECLIPSE SP6900 6X9" 2WAY SPEAKERS any opinions on my choices?
i have all infinity speakers inside, but still need subs and an amp.
i found some subs i really liked:
Namsung Dual 12" bandpass subwoofer system - $169.99
they've got blue LEDs which i'd change out with green but thats beside the point.
Sensitivity: 89dB
Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms
RMS power range: 50-175 watts
Freq. Range: 25-200 Hz
comes with a box, is this a decent buy or should i go for somethin higher quality?
