Angry Kenwood problem!! Help!!

just installed a kenwood kvt-617dvd monitor, and everything was working fine,
radio and aux. but when i put in a dvd or cd it shows the timer counting and it says its
playing but i can't hear nothing!!
did a lil searching on the internet and one forum suggested unhooking the blue wire to the harness and reconnecting to blue/white wire on brain unit.
did it and it worked !!!
now its doing it again !!! iam getting very upset at this.
i did do the install myself and i wired every color to match.
anyone have any suggestions??
thanks

i think there is a built safty that has to have the parkig brake engaged so you cant watch movies while you drive when i had my flip out installed i had to rig a switch that i hold down for three seconds and it thinks its in park so i con watch movies while i drive well not me my passenger go to a audio shop and see if they will hook you up.

You have it wired properly now. The problem was that the blue wire is for a power antenna (which Civics don't have) and the blue/white wire is for amplifier control.

The blue wire is on only in radio mode to put the antenna up. When you play any sort of a disc, the blue wire is off. This caused your amplifier(s) to power down and you heard nothing from the disc, even though the radio works.

The blue/white wire is on all the time the unit is on, regardless of whether it is playing from radio or disc.

When installing a system, always double check and match up wires by function, not just color.

Yeah ditto the above......found that out the frustrating way. Your manual should have a wiring diagram for the head unit and then, at least for me, i found a wiring diagram for my car in a haynes repair manual. Good luck to ya!
