Default Keyless Entry

I just got a Civic and it didn't come with Keyless entry. What parts will I need to convert it over. I also want an alarm and remote start too. Can I get all of these in one system?

Keyless you can get as an OEM unit, alarm and starter you'll have to aftermarket. Viper is the brand of choise of most, they have some cool stuff. We're going to need more info though... year and trim would help. There's a bunch of posts about the keyless systems in this section, look around.

There's been a few threads about keyless entry before. From what I understand, most cars come with the wiring and equipment pre-installed and all you need is the remote.

If you're gonna get an aftermarket alarm (Viper is ranked high), then you shouldn't need anything else because you'll use the alarm's remote for everything.

ya you can get a viper or different brands and will come with alarm (with keyless)and remote start....best thing you can do it go to the shop thats going to install it for you and see what they sell and what they can hook you up with, when you tell them the car and the options you have and if its standerd or not (yes it makes a difference) they will tell you what systems they can you install on your car

it's a 98 Civic LX 4 door sedan. It's an automatic. I know most places won't install remote start on a manual.

All I needed was to add remotes to my receiver. I got new units for about 1/3 dealer price for my 00 Civic & 99 Odyssey on -

http://www.ThePartsYouNeed.com

They seem to have remotes & instructions for everything on their site.
