i have 2 12in kickers in my car, they are in the trunk and i have 2 amps. one under the drivers seat and one under the passenger seat. they hit nicely, you dont want it to hit too hard cause it will vibrate your trunk too bad and wont sound good. My dad had some MTX subs in his truck a while ago, i cant remember much about them but i know they hit hard too, i just dont know what it would sound like in a little 2 door car versus when it was in a big truck.

between the two kicker is better, but there are subs out that are better than both for the money

i would go mtx i absolutely hate kicker they are too over rated. at my local audio shop i saw 2 mtx 10s out beat 2 kicker comp 15s with no problem. i would go mtx. but just a suggestion i would go cadence over both of them.

but what were the circumstances. in car audio the installation is about 95% important. you can have awesome subs, but in a crappy box you're gonna get crappy sound. you can take a POS sony sub, put it in an awesome enclosure and have awesome sound.

i've personally had bad experiences with MTX, and good experiences with kicker. so my vote would go to kicker.

bad thing about buying stuff off the internet is what do you do if you have problems with it? you've got to send it back and hope it doesn't get lost in the mail, etc. it's just so much easier if you buy it locally, you take it back where you bought it. then they either give you a new one or they send it off. but at least if THEY send it back you have someone to go bitch at when your merchandise is lost, stolen, etc.
