Not much to it. Just identify what color wire goes to your fuel pump from a wiring schematic. Break the circuit (cut the wire),or run a remote set of wires to your place of choice, where you want the kill source to be. You can use a
toggle, rocker or push button switch. Most switches will work because there isnt a lot of amperage involved. Connect one side of the cut wire to one side of the switch and the other wire to the other side of the switch.

from my understanding i cut the fuel wire in half and connect one end to one side of the switch and the other side to the other side of the switch. and from my understanding the fuel pump is under the back seat. i have a 99 civic coupe.

also, can't a thief trace the wire and turn on the switch or find the fuel pump and disconnect the wires to the switch and connect the wires back?
and thanks for that site justin

yes its quite easy to trace wires unless you do a really good job, but a civic can be stolen quite easy i hate to break it to ya lol. had to start some at the shop without keys and once you figure out what to do its cake to do again.

well if your wires are visable or you have a obvious switch in the typical place they will try to flip the switch or rip the switch out if they can.

but if you try something custom and hidden they wont find it... like mine you couldlook at it all day in person and not know thats my kill switch.LOL and even if they knew it was there they dont have the exact piece to fix...

your simply disrupting the power or ground that is going to the fuel pump... you can splice that wire where ever you want on the car! dont do the typical kill switch with a simple toggle switch.... alot of theives have the internet as well and read those same DIY types...

you cannt easily rip the rear seat out and when it comes to a theft.... a thief is not going to take the time to trace wiring and riping the car up to try and find how to start the car for to long.... most likely they already made alot of noise bushing the window or poping the lock and then busting up the ignition to then find out they cannt start it... at that time geting caught by the owner with a shot gun in the face really starts to run threw there head hardcore and most the time they will grab what they can and run like hell outta there....

you gotta think like a thief to trick these guys. and if you dont have a alarm already. that should be your first thing to get because that alarms siren detours alot of theft... even that little blinking led helps alot

yea, i have a pretty good alarm system installed, just need a little bit more protection. i guess they wont start tracing and finding the switch with their mindset. i will have to see what i can do about the wires and switch. thanks for the help guys

Just keep in mind, the more trouble you go through to run your wires, or hide your switch, the more trouble it is for the thief! An extra minite or two may make all the difference in the world. I agree with addiction2bass, (about not using the toggle switch). There are several styles of switches...........................just be creative.
Good luck.

One of my favorite techniques is to route a fake harness up behind the dash that "looks" like it leads to the alarm brain... Too bad a thief have to gut the whole vehicle interior to get to my alarm brain, unless he happens to GUESS which panel it is located behind. Also, the thief better hope I didn't run yet another fake harness behind a body panel just to throw him off again

I was also thinking of using a technique similar to the old Blade Grenade amplifiers. I would use a 1/8" mini jack that has to be plugged into the right place for the vehicle to start. Good luck starting it without the 1/8" jack in the right place... Actually I just thought of something that is going to use dual methods.... one of them will be a fail safe just in case the other craps out. Unfortunately, I won't say any more on an open forum
