Just go to best buy and listen to some. Alpine type R's aren't too bad, maybe looke at the Type S's? Infinitys have really harsh highs IMO, but if that what you like, get 'em. JL has some good coaxials. I have the TR690-TXi 6x9s and they have good midbass (which you will definitely be lacking without and external amp). Honestly you can only get like one set of decent speakers with $150.

Check out eBay. You can get really good speakers for cheap. I just got a pair of Rockford Fosgate T1692 6X9's for $86 shipped (RF sells them on their site for $179.99).

Kan's got a point. But these don't do too bad. They have really good midbass output.

Go to crutchfield get all the sizes..not sure of your location but a local QUALITY brand around CT seems to be Memphis. Nice subs for cheap. As far as speakers there are so many options. Ever go to autozone for spark plugs and they ask if you want poor, good, better, and best? Its like that. Personal experience has shown me that you get what you pay for!
I like infiniti speakers
