Mileage Reset
I know before anyone blasts me for trying to be shady, I am not. My 2001 Honda Civic LX Instrument Cluster decided to go insane and work intermittently or not at all. I finally pulled every thing out and discovered that something was shorting on the green connection slot on the board and could not be fixed. So I bought a new/used instrument cluster from a Junkyard and now my Odometer reads 200000 plus miles when my car only has 126000 miles on it. If I need to I will go and get the certificate from the Secretary of State. However, I would prefer to reset if possible to correct mileage.
When I first worked on this, I found there is another problem with these Clusters that causes the Gauges to flutter around. There is a TSB on how to reset the board and clear the computer of the error.
-Question 1 Does this Clear out the Speedometer Mileage and correct it to the Mileage stored on the PCM?
-Question 2 How can it be done? or can I take it to the dealer?
Thx
