modification of door lock sound?
i have an 09 civic coupe lx... i was wondering if i can modify the sound the door locks make when i lock it? that "bleep" noise actually sounds like a canadian goose getting poked with a stick. haha i want to make it a more suttle sound... is this even possible?
yes. The factory keyless unlock/lock signal is wired to your factory horn. Just press your car horn button for 1 second. It will sound exactly the same as your door lock/unlock 'chirp.'
If it really bugs you, you could rewire that signal to an aftermarket horn/siren/buzzer. But just remember the sisnal will not change in duration, only tone.

You can probably cut the wire from the lock/alarm module to the horn relay so it would be silent, but the button on the steering wheel would still work. This also means the alarm would not sound the horn either.
lol yes i kno wat a horn is ... jeez. i just didnt kno if i sat there and honked the horn that it could change the way my door lock sounds. it doesnt make sense to me. sorry im not really knowledgeable with modifing cars...i mean that is why im on here! lol but thanks for the help.
No that's not what he means. You're saying "door lock sound". He was trying to explain to you that the door lock sound IS the horn so the only way to change the sound is to wire the door locking system to a buzzer or siren instead of the horn. Honking the horn isn't going to change anything...
