Default my DYI custom trunk

ok so ive been wanting to customize my trunk so..i finally did it. im not finished tho. But here is the scoop about my project.
When I bought my SI I had no trunk interior. only a spare tire. no carpet, no floor or anything. so i made my own lol. I was tired of my speaker box slidding around sitting on my spare tire. So i took some 3 1/4inch plywood and made my own floor. Then I took my speaker box, mounted and secured it. I had to take a pry bar to get my bocx to slide under my 6x9's, then I took an speaker box i had laying around that was use to hold 2 15" subs and broke it down. I use the extra material to customize the trunk floor and sides. So this is what I got so far. Now I want to put 2 10" screens, 1 on each side of the trunk on the angled wood. I have made a custom mount to hold my 7in screen on the inside of the trunk lid. But its not installed yet. So here are the pics..what do ya think? Also. anyone else with DIY custom trunks...POST SOME PICS!!!

thats looks really good man, i have been wanting to do something like that but never got to it. i think it would look cool with a flip flop trunk with linear acuators on switches or a remote starter conroler, thats what im going to do soon as i get the money.

in case you dont know what im talking about, but in stead of those door locks you put on the acuators that open it for you.

Thanks guys! Yeh im proud of it considering I didnt draw anything out. Just backed the *** end into the garage and started cutting Lol. Yeh I thought about doing the flip flop trunk. I did it before on my Acura Legend, but I thought it would be overboard and ricey. Lol. The trunk worked out well. There is just enough room behind the box and on the sides for my air tank and compressors for when I do my air ride.

It sounds good, I made the box really strong, I can stand on it and jump. I have had it for 2 years like that, but I just want somthing really simple, so I kind of have a plan for next year.

dito....LOL main downfall with a setup like that is thiers no port into the interior so its not as loud as it could be... PLUS all that presure is right on the trunk lid which im sure does rattle like crazy!!!!!!!

thats the main reason i went with a front firing box design.... since the sides are covered tight the trunk doesnt rattle hardly any...... you loose just alittle bit of lows and the sub needs to have decent SQ or it will sound like crap.LOL

but whats the hardest part to work around is those dam trunk arms
ive been wanting to get some sedan trunk hinges for quite some time BUT just havent had any good luck finding a good seller.... ive bought two now and one was fruad and other one guy said the post office LOST them.

also another eyesoar is those trunk taillight wires.... ive also wanted to custom wire mine to run the wires THRU the arms im sure it can be done since they should be completly hollow.... just drill a hole in the side and run the wires thru on the backside and also on the top where it bolts to the trunk lid. that should clean it up very nice!
at least thats my next plan...

and tho i do like the flip flop trunk lid... BUT if i saw anyone with the ghetto hinge setup i would laugh at them! i would BUY the autoloc setup since it looks SO MUCH BETER!!!!!!! no ghetto hinge and slide pin..

yeah with the flip flop trunk, its only good if you make the hindeges your self weld them in and then get the linear acuators, so people think it looks cool with the trunk open and then you push a button and then it goes down, its really cool, my friend has it on his civic, to bad theres nothing is his trunk yet, lol

haha yeh, it rattles a little bit, not as bad as king kong lol hahaha. it sounds really good tho. But I dont play it that loud too offten because i have a 20mth old daughter that has to ride around with me.... (single dad full custody) so yeh. But I have been thinking about doing that...running the wires through the trunk arms. What do the sedan trunk arms look like and how is it better then the coupes. anyone got pics of them on the coups..im interested cause there are 2 coupes here in the junk yard where i live...
