Default need help with l5s

i just got the kicker daul solobaric 12' L5 subs in the vented enclosure and a kicker class d mono amp @ circuitcity. i was wondering if the subs could handle the amp with the bass turned all the way up?

here are the links

Depends on how youwire it. If you wire it for a total of 8 ohms, yes, a total of 2 ohms, no. I would go with this amp: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Speci...cation.do#tabs
as it will put out 400wrms at 2 ohms.

im anewb at audio so correct me if im wrong but the amp has a max watt output of 1207 and it says thesubs can hadle up to 1200 watts so cant it hadle it if i turn the bass all the way up with max volume or will i risk blown the subs? Also i thought 1 L5 could handle up to 1500 watts so why does 2 in the same box only handle up two 1200 watss max

If it's 600wrms per sub then if you wire the subs in series inside for a total of 4 ohms, then parallel the two subs to give you 2 ohms, then yes, you can run that amp.

If the subs are dual 2ohm voice coils, it would be in your best interest to wire them like option 2 in the This link. That would present a 2 ohm load to your amp, pulling most of what it has to give directly to RMS power. I am not a big fan of squares myself, but I don't see any reason you couldn't blast with the setup you have there. As long as you use your low filter to block most of the highs, they shouldn't distort much, but as with every speaker there is a chance of dammage when you are jamming at high power output. A ported enclosure should give you plenty of "kick" but might lack a little around the deeper tight notes, however if you are looking for the whole block to know your home, this would be the best choice.

I used to buy kicker products back in the day, when i was first learning about audio, I haven't ever used their amps, but they seem to get some degree of feedback and pretty decent raitings, I would expect they are built tough!

Their amps are pretty good. I have a ZX750.1 powering my single 15" L7 and at half volume with the windows up it causes you to feel quite a bit of pressure on your chest, enough that you can feel it affecting your breathing.
