Default Need more BASS in 01 civic cheap?!

So I bought these 5.1 speakers for my pc for logitech. Its got 280 watts and a 10 inch sub. For 280 watts this system puts out the power plus its THX certified. Anyways I listen to some of the same songs in my car as I do in the house and the pathetic BASS in my civic is driving me nuts. I mean you can hardly hear the songs until you turn it was up then you still get no bass.

So....

I know the speakers in the back are junky. They are stock. Would getting some higher wattage speakers do better for the BASS?

AND or:
What about a big BASS thing in the back. Okay so one 10 inch would do me fine. I dont like all that racket and dont want to rattle my trunk off and anoy the neighbors as I drive by or stop at a light.

What would I need for say a 100 bucks or so? Or is it the stock radio/cd player that is lacking power?

pretty much everything can be improved over stock stuff. new speakers and an amp w/ subwill be the best for getting more bass. if your only wanting to spend about a $100 then getting new speakers is the best option, but even then to get good ones, your gonna be spending more than that. search through the old threads theres a lot of them that talk about cheap sub set ups and maybe you can afford some of those. alsolook around on the internet, you can find better deals than if you go somewhere.

Those little tiny speakers up front too? Tweeters correct?

All the way around not just the 2 back ones?

So by headunit you mean the stock cd player. What should I look for in one as for power output and such?

ya get speakers all the way around, it will sound best. if you got the tweeters get a good component system. A component system comes with a bass cone for the door, a tweeter for up high, and a cross-over that split the highs and lows between the 2 speakers, that goes pretty much anywhere you can find room normally behind the door panel. Components sound awesome and have increased clarity over normal multi-element speakers, the only down side is they cost more thanregular mulit element speaker. For the rear, get a pair of good multi element speakers, and you will be pretty happy. I don't know what year civic you have, but the fronts are probably 6.5 components, and the rears are either 6.5, or 6x9.

As far as a head unit is concerned, most radios put out either 45x4 or 50x4 max watts (16-20 RMS depending on the brand). your stock sereo is putting out about 10 RMS so a new radio puts out about twice the power.

just upgrading these will produce a lot more clarity out off the speakers, as well as more bass. and if you haven't been able to tell, getting good quality stuff that sounds good isn't cheap. so you are better off saving your money and getting decent stuff, cuz if you cheap out, you won't be happy with the sound.

alright... bass cost money so if you want better sund with some OK bass get new speakers all around and switch the headunit .. but if you really want bass do those things and get a amp and get some subs... if i were you i would get 2 10's or 2 12's because if wont move around as much or tip over... now i think one essential thing to get is a real good amp... my friend has a 20 year old rocksford fosgate that is like literally 2 feet long and 1 foot wide it puts out like 3000 watts and that connected to any system will be so dramatic of a sound you will not beleive... but he was looking to sell it and people were giving him offers for over 1000
a good headunit will cost about 200 and the sub and box will cost about 200 depending on the sub and the speakers could cost anywhere from 100 to 300 wiring will be like 100 and depending on whether u want install yourself or have a pro do it... could be 50-100 bucks... so for all the its like 1000 bucks with a 200 dollar amp... so if u want quality sound that bumps then it will cost you... i got all of that except i left all my stock speakers in and didnt get new one... but mine was with install and wiring and with a 4year no questions warruntee on everything and i get it installed when i get a new car for free... so you will not get good bass for 100 bucks

If you're just looking for a better, deeper sound I suggest 2 8's in a sealed box. Won't take much amp to power them and it won't excessively rattle the car. They are cheaper but don't go the super cheap route or you'll end up with pretty much what you have now.

You can do 8's from edesignaudio.com which have rave reviews.

Too much for you, want to just upgrade what you have? The best 6.5" replacement is Tang Bangs which have insane bass capabilities for such a small speaker. http://www.tb-speaker.com/

Get a cheap amp off ebay but don't fall for those "bling" subs they have on there for next to nothing in price. You'll be dissapointed.

Last thing. Keep the Logitech in the house. They will not have the same acoustic capabilities in the car. They run smaller drivers with weak speaker design that works well with the expansion of sound waves in a room. They don't offer enough force to create the same effect in a car. Try it and see.
