Default Need some opinions on this system setup

I haven't had a system in any of my cars for about 4 years and i dont really remember much about trunk systems. I was brousing bestbuy's website and saw this setup. What do you guys and gals think about it? Also i dont think this amp has a external controller but my cd player has some kind of control for subs, can i control the system from my cd deck?

yeah, xplods don't last long and many people blow them in a short time. but you would be able to control the amp from your headunit, and by the remote bass control that comes with the amp itself

Friend a dealer that sale directed audio,Extreme audio, ARC audio. I got a kenwood head unit and arc door speakers and extreme amp and sub. ARC and Extreme are both good products me and my brother both have it and you can't beat it for the money. My one 12 sounds better than my friends 10 t1 rockford. 12 inch extreme $89 and rockford t1 $349. Extreme amp 600 watt amp $219 and rockford amp t8002 I think 800 rms watts $749. Having him damn near cry after knowing the price diff. PRICELESS.

i wouldnt do that. plus, bestbuy is alot more expensive than other stores. get an alpine headunit with subwoofer phase control. mine is awesome all i have to do is press the volume button and there it is...sub volume 1-15 and the phase control which i leave at zero. i have the cda-9855

I disagree with everyboy. That would actually be a great starter system. No point in going all the way high end without knowing what crap subs sound like.

I dont doubt its a good starter system but if they fail quick then its something i dont want to invest in. Bestbuy always has these deals on complete setups, a new one each week, so ill just wait for a good brand to come up.

As soon as I saw the page open, I saw a huge red flag, SONY! What ever you do, don't get sony. They make great consumer products, t.v.s for example, but when it comes to car stereos, they suck. I would look at brands such as; alpine, eclipse, kicker, pioneer, mtx, just to name a few. For a starter system, I would browse ebay. Just look around, and you'll find a great system, for cheap?

POOP i say! from anyone i know thats owned sony x-plods (aptly nammed), they will blow out faster than you can set the gain on your amp. But i suppose remmy has a point that it would be a good starter kit. i mean my first sub was a pioneer from walmart (so who am i to judge) and now with knowledge i've moved up to high-end Kicker stuff. i say for $300 why not try it out, but if you'd rather invest your money in something better skip Best Buy all together and get yourself a good set of Kickers or JBL's.
