Default New 6x9's

Hey, i'm lookin to finally upgrade my stock rear speakers (they sound like complete ****, there is absolutely NO treble and the bass is quite muffled) and i want something that doesnt cost TOO much, yet is still good quality (coaxial, not component). If it makes any difference i have a Panasonic CQ-7401 HU but the rest of my system is stock. I was looking at either some Type R's, or possibly the 3 way infinity reference's or 2 way kappa's. (Anything within $60-120 ebay-wise). Any suggestions on any good speakers would be great!

Thanks, Evan

Spend the extra on the 3-way kappas, you'll be happy you did.

If you are broke, go for Infinity Reference. If you got some cash, go for the Kappas. If you got mucho cash, hit up th Kappa Perfects. Infinity is the best bang for the buck on the market as far as speakers go.

thanks for all the help!

I put some Pioneer 6X9 three ways in my civic and they sound great, they have good treble and wicked bass, they go for $100 a pair new. I got mine at Circuit City

yeah, for $100 new those arent bad, but believe it or not im actually wanting to pay a bit more (or equal in price on ebay) so im thinkin the kappa's dont sound like a horrible deal, plus bass doesnt matter too much to me considering within a few months i should have a 12" Kappa VQ in the trunk then have the low frequencies taken out of the mids.

what about the alpine type r 6x9's though?

theyr only 2 way, but they also sell for 80ish....i know theyr not quite as good as the kappas, but alpine is one of the most reputable brands out there.

Perfects = Component only and you'd need a 6.5" to 6x9 conversion plate. Doubt they'd have much bass either, they're really ment to be used with a sub.

Kappa two ways are dope, three ways are even better.

So the 3 ways are noticeably better than the 2 ways?

I have this years Kappa 3 ways and they are unbelievable, you will notice a difference, they can put out bass as well as highs. I strongly suggest the Kappa 3 ways.
