New Alpine System
^ thats the dumbest thing i have ever heard. warranties WARRANTY the product that you purchase in case the item defects or malfunctions! if you pay alot of money for something, its best to get a warranty that way it can be replaced if something happens.
ok now that i got my amp I am looking for a sub to go with it.
im thinking about this one here because I saw it on ebay -
http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products...06C/index.html
Do you think this sub will go alright with the amp i mentioned before?
still got about 2 days to go before auction ends.
Thanks,
Chris.

I've repaired all my amplifiers, each one that has fried or blown a mosfet or the like I have fixed on my own
you shouldn't be so opinionated, it makes you a jackass or ignorant
yeah most people don't fix their own amps
well maybe they should learn to
Warranty products require paperwork, time and sometimes money
most people blow their amps from wiring it wrong, therefore voiding their own product from warranty anyway
if the amp is faulty, then fine send it back through warranty, but even ebay stores accept returns on faulty products with or without warranty, you'd be a fool not to do THIS, not to get something not warrantied...
At least if you know how to fix them, you can save yourself a lot of money if you did a stupid mistake to void the warranty, and can fix it yourself (we all make mistakes or sometimes don't double check)
Most amplifier repairs cost 200+, I've fixed all mine for 12 bucks or less
and if you can't fix it, well then

but the above was unfixable anyway
friend has a loose power cord
came loose, flung around in the trunk, made sudden sharp electrical charges to the ground, channels, etc, not everything can be fixed but that's most often from stupid actions
i got a WARRANTY with my 9855 because i had heard that the glidetouch messes up after some time. or, the motorized face could stop working. i havent had any trouble at all out of it but i just wanted to be safe. so there.
ok I went to shop today where I'm going to get my amp (alpine MRV-F345) and sub installed and they guy said that installing it in the civic will not be worth the effort. He said that if I use an amp on the factory HU then there is goign to be a significant amount of engine noise. He has done it several times on the civic and he doesn't recommend it because most customers come back and request to take their aftermarket part off. Its that bad apparently. But if I still really want to get it installed then they will still do it.
Is there any truth to this. I really badly want to improve the sound system in the civic but if its going to turn out bad maybe I should just leave it as it is.

I have a full alpine system in mine, and not a single bit of engine noise.
Your "guy" probably has no certification or understanding on how to fix ground loops and the like.
I'm not sure exactly what your civic is, but I'm sure there will be no problems in noise.
Just try another shop, see what they say.
Not to mention there's numerous solutions for engine noise anyway
