i got about 2000 watts going on my stereo and its running on all stock electrical system and i dont have my small yellowtop anymore since they cancelled all those for the honda/acura's.....i do have dimming on my lights kinda bad at night but the voltage never drops bad enough for me to really need to do anything. But i really am thinking about getting a second one just to run the system though.
2000watts off all stock stuff..... you gotta be mistaken!!!!!! or you dont have a voltage display showen your voltage....
mine with only 1200watts rms already making the alt cut out and dip to 11volts with a fullsize optima yellow top under the hood.... and thats while driving!
our stock alts are only like 70 or 75amps.... and hell my amplifier draws that much power alone!

no i have a DMM and i cranked mine up to where i listen to and it was never dropping below 11....it was around 11.8 but that was the lowest it got.It might be around 1700-1900 not sure but i can get it to 2000 but then thats all nasty distorted power though.

ya when driving you realy dont want the voltage below 14volts when driving......
your battery might be runnen low and not charging properly.....
and 14volts almost always puts out beter power... more power and cleaner power
only difference is IF your amplifier is regulated at 12volts.... which only the realy good ones usualy are....

well id sugest geting a digital voltage meter also

stinger makes a nice cheap digital display unit... realy easy to wire up! three wires... POWER, ground and a turn on wire.
i put mine in the pocket under the radio... just cut a hole in it large enough for the unit to fit into

you can get them from www.splmeter.com
for 150bucks new but i bought mine off ebay for about half price... i think it works preaty good... its preaty close to my new termlab metering i think......

preaty nice for doing some testing...
and a WHOLE lot cheaper than a new termlab meter.LOL tho the termlab is extremly accurate and has more toys with it BUT its all i need for tweeking...
i wish i had it before i did my termlab BASSRACE... i coulda found a good song and got alot beter score
tho i cannt remember my score... and cannt find the stats. i guess they edited them... i think my score was 128.6bd on bassrace I THINK im sure i coulda beat 130 BUT it was my first bassrace and i was turnen the volume up and down trying to get my best score... and well WOOPS... guess i shoulda read the instructions... didnt know it was a average score of the whole race.LMFAO

na its two different units... the spl meter is on the windshield and the voltage meter is seperate
