No disrespect or nothin', JL as a company is completely over rated. Everyone with money, (any kid who gets there parents to buy them for them) has JL audio. I just think there are a lot of better subs out there for the money. I'm sure it sounds great, so congrats!

nah JL is the best my man (not to argue) but i've been around audio equipment for 3 years now (im only 18 though[8D]) and been to bass offs and heard what needs to be heard. Fact is, you may be able to find heavier hitters then W3's for the price they were, but just because they hit heavier doesnt mean they are good quality, and will long break before mine will, plus mine come with a warranty. (they do sound nice too and mill$, i will in the end be upgrading to W6 or W7's)

lol i think JL is overrated also. I use to be a die hard jl fan, then read up and their ohms are only 1.5!!! i thought that was bad, so im gettin my bros 2 12" audiobahns which are 4 ohm each. but Hooray for you man, you are lucky!

That will be a nice system man! Once you get the new amp though I would suggest getting a sealed box. You could sell the bandpas and buy a new sealed one, of just build your own (that is what I did and it worked out perfect). Let us know how it only sounds with the 500 watt amp, just make sure you don't try to send more juice to the sub than the amp can put out (clipping an amp is never good[&:][8D])

JL W7s have that wierd ohm config so you will use their 1000/1 amp with the sub.

JLs are great equipment, but there is better out there for cheaper.

And for the bandpass box you get a
