Default Openion's On Headunit and Speakers please

Hey,
I will soon be purchasing some interior speakers and a new headunit soon. I will just get these untill i fiberglass my trunk around March and throw dual 10's into it.
Here's my set up hopeful..
Front 6.5 Component Speakers
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=17563

Rear 6X9's
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=17564

Headunit.
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=18013

And possible AMP for my interior speakers(mids and highs)
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16692

i have mixed openions on a stereo system..
Do I need to put new wires in my car if I install this system?(2000 SIR)
What is the best component speaker system/rear's set up do you guys like? Brands, etc.
Thanks, really new to this so any info much appreciated..

Also, since I have 4 speakers, does that mean i need a 4 channel amp? Or just a 2 Channel because its only power mids and highs...?

thanks

You don't need an amp. The cd player will power all the speakers. But the speaker set up is fine. Alpine is a great company. if you do put a 4 channel amp in your car you do need to rewire all your speakers. They need to run into the amp and not into the headunit.

ughhh
this thread hurts my brain
it's too vague on everything
you're not mentioning why you're getting those speakers
you're asking for whether or not you should get a 4 channel amp yet you're getting 4 speakers, do you plan to maybe parallel wire left and right??
you ask if you need new wires, i mean, chances are if you're going to amp you'll need the big wires but you don't mention if you already have that, unless you meant just speaker wire, in which case no but it would be suggested
you ask for best component speakers but you already seem to plan on getting the alpines

My car is decked with alpine
alpine type X fronts, R mids, R rears, X sub

I hate it
I used to be a die hard alpine fan but no longer
their stuff does the job, and quite well, but i had to pay out the *** for the type X components and I'm not pleased

they are not loud and they sound too warm, yet i paid $230 for them
I liked the type Rs better, but even those I'm not too happy with
the R 6x9s (same model you linked) are also far too warm for my taste, don't really hit notes well.. I understand that they are filler, but i liked the 2 year old model type S 6x9s far better than these
The thing with alpine is, they release something new, ALLL the time, they have no consistency, so it's hard to buy something one day, then when you plan to expand, for that model line to still exist
Not to mention with alpine you have to pay far out the *** for their products
if you like it then go for it, i personally still do like the sound of my system, but i can't stand it's inefficiency and lack of crisper highs

I do suggest a 4 channel amp, it's all up to you
6x9s are really just filler, but they will get hella louder than 6.5s if amplified

Your right, it is very vague, but i'm just tired of searching everywhere and getting a large standard deviation on openions of positive and negative on all speakers.
I'm upgrading the speakers on my Civic, as I plan to throw in dual 10's into my custom fiberglass trunk that's being built.
I want a better sounding system, within reasonable price. I'm within the price range of $500 for the speakers and deck, so right around the price for components and 6X9's that linked too.
I want it to be slightly louder than stock, but sound alot better with crisp high's and good mids, I have plans for the lows.

I have the stock system in right now, stock wiring.
I am eventually going to amp the speakers when i put the subs in.
While I have the car apart, should I rewire it all with better wiring?

I have it narrowed down to that specific headunit, which i want, and between Apline, Kicker, JL audio, and infinity for components and 6x9's. Which will give me the best sounding speaker/buy?
I'm also dynamatting the rear speaker panel and most of the trunk.

Sorry to say but I'd suggest a new head unit first.
Alpine makes some of the best head units out there, I'd go after those.

As for the speakers etc. it's all up to you
After years of car audio one thing I've learned is, just go by what sounds best to you
if you want slightly louder than stock alpine will do the job (as long as they're amped, otherwise almost no aftermarket speakers are louder than stock)
If you do stay with alpines the Rs do the job well, im just not the fan of the R 6x9s...but love the 6.5 components
I would suggest rewiring only because the stock wiring is probably 18 or 20 gauge, I'd suggest 16 for 75 - 120 watts rms
Alpine/Kicker/JL/infinity, I don't like kickers because they provide too much bass in their speakers, subs are for that. JLs are decent. Alpines are good but have terrible sensitivity, and the infinitys are definitely good.
all in all though like i said, it's up to you, test them out at a store and see what sounds best for you
otherwise there's really no need for opinions on a forum, the speakers don't have enough of a difference for an educated forum reply on what to get or what not to get
alpine/kicker/jl/infinity speakers are all more or less in the same line, so at this point, it just depends on what sounds best to YOU

IF you read my post i link you to the headunit I want, it is Kenwood, I like the Kenwood and Alpine decks.

Listening to them is the problem, there are no stores around me that carry these products.

But now I have it narrowed down to the speakers i want, i just dont know whats better, 2ohm or 4 ohm impedence. The Components i will be running are 2ohm impedence ( http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=15366) What do you think of these components?
Also I can decide between these two 6X9's
Only real difference is the impedence of 2 vs 4 ohm...
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...ms=18366,15362
Which is a better speaker?

dont run 2 ohm if you're running them unamplified (direct from your head unit)
you WILL have problems...
and the 23i is better
but like i said
it's 2 ohm

Here's what I think you should buy:

PG RSD65cs
http://www.mobilesoundworks.com/Prod...ctCode=rsd65cs
PG RSD690
http://www.mobilesoundworks.com/Prod...uctCode=rsd690
Crunch PZi175.4 <--these amps are a little overrated
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16694

Here's a thread on those components that talks about how good those speakers are:

Also for mobilesoundworks.com use coupon code FORUM10 and get 10% off

If I'm going to AMP them, can I run 2ohm's?

Why do you reccommend those speakers, never heard of them..

phoenix golds are kind of like underground speakers...rarely sold in stores and only heard of by people who know at least a thing or two about audio
if you amp them then yes you can run at 2, as long as the amp has an imedance load of 2, which it will always advertise
Most underground speakers seem to do best by forum users like phoenix gold, dd audio, fi etc.
