Default Pioneer DEH6800MP in 1994 Civic EX

Hey everybody. I just put a Pioneer DEH6800MP with the ipod interface in my 1994 Honda Civic EX. I absolutely love it. When I first got the car over the weekend it had no head unit, horn, or ac. Now I have an AC, Horn, and a head unit. For some reason the AC came on as soon as I put the cd player in. Weird I guess. Next is some new speakers because the stock ones suck, and a new paint job. I'm on my way to bring this Civic back from the dead. Anybody got any suggestions on any speakers for the Civic?

For my Car I put a Pioneer DEH-P 7800MP so it’s just the one above yours. The iPod piece for your 6800 is the best looking one, because you hit the list button and it comes up with the same as an iPod interface with a good readout. So you got a sweet deal with that, I just use the CDRB10 to input my iPod into it and a Monster Cable to connect to stereo and Monster Car charger with a line out on the bottom (cleanest signal). I just like choosing the songs on the pod itself. I put polk momo’s in my 98 Civic EX 2 door coupe. 6.5” component in front then 6x9 coaxial in back, but it’s really up to what kind of sound you want. I used to work at Circuit City in the Car Audio department so I really know my stuff.

Kicker speakers are good on the high end but kinda bland for bass and mid range; the KS series should be fine to be powered off the deck.

Polk DB series will give you good overall sound, and it’s a bassier speaker.

Eclipse Integrated Series or Infinity Reference Series is good all over the board, just a clean overall sound if you just want to add speakers I would probably do that.

Pioneer speakers are pretty good for the money but just don’t sound side by side compared to some other companies listed above.

The sizes appear to be 6.5” in front and 5.25” in back deck. I’m not sure if you have component speakers in the front or not, if you do you mine as well put a component system in the front, since you got the space for it. Then in the back just put an awesome pair of 5.25” coaxial speakers. I’d go with eclipse or infinity for overall clear sound; it would make your iPod sound sweet nasty. And remember your sounds system will only sound as good as the weakest link, if the weakest link is the speakers... replace em’. Hope this helps.
