Default power antenna

So I searched several forums and became even more confused...

I am trying to get my alpine head unit to turn on my power antenna. The car is a 1994 civic LX sedan. there doesn't seem to be a wire in the factory harness for the antenna, so the antenna stays retracted and I get no reception. how do I fix this?

Thanks

i wish my civic had a power antena but mine doesnt ive figured if i wanted one id have to put it in myself with some customizing towards the rear for the antena.

^+1 you don't have a power antenna. That's why there's no wire in the harness. I had this same confusion on my Del Sol. I could have sworn the antenna was down and then I looked again and it was up. I thought I had a power antenna but it turns out I didn't.

All Civics have manual antennas. Grab the end **** and pull it up. If it doesn't come up you need a new antenna, only about $20 at a dealer.
