Default Power Inverter

I've got an '03 civic. I'm on the road a lot for work, with the laptop. So, I'm thinking of picking up a 100W power inverter. If the computer is running constantly off of the car's power, is it going to noticeably screw with my gas mileage?

Well its definetly not going to help it. Why not just get the Cig lighter adapter?

i dont think it would hurt anything if thats all your powering..........

tho most labtops dont need a power inverter... go check out your local radio shack and see wha they can get for ya that would jsut plug into the cig lighter and then into the back of your labtop...

so the cig lighter won't ruin my mileage? thank you, i wasn't sure if they had lighter adapters for my laptop, didn't want to waste the time looking for one if it would draw the same amount of power

hurting the mileage....that's a new one to me. i guess in some kind of very technical way it's feasible, but not gonna happen. and the only way a system would hurt your mileage would be the extra weight you're carrying around

well actualy when the alternator engages is does put a small drag on the motor.... but the power inverter wont suck that much extra power....

that's why i said in a technical way, but the altenator isn't going to make any more of a draw on the motor if you're running 2000 watts for a system or a tiny power inverter.
