PS2 Mounting...

RE: PS2 Mounting...
Mounting it in the dash would be the deal. It is possible to disassemble it and custom mount it somewhere in the dash. Just need enough space for the tray to open, the power and reset buttons and the controller ports. Depend on how much electronics experience you have. Be creative. Make it look like it's not even there. Good luck.

Ideally, I'd like to gut it and mount just the cd tray on the dash under the deck or something like that.

Yeah, it's the old skool full size ps2... I would put it under the seat but I find it's tough to change the discs as your crusing. Ideally, I'd like to gut it and mount just the cd tray on the dash under the deck or something like that. I might just try the glovebox hack although I'm still stiff on cutting it... but I think the turnout would work good. I could even get some controller extensions and run them to flush mounts on the dash or something. If I can't get my hand on a second glovebox, any idea how much it would be to order something like that direct from Honda.??

Found a pretty good page for an easy and clean lookin ps2 mount finally just under the glovebox. I'll probably still work on puttin mine in the glovebox but I like the bezel idea. Thinking of adding a boxed in section underneath the ps2 in the glovebox for a few dvds or something as well.

Scrapped both ideas and just had it on the floor for the summer. The under the glovebox setup like in the link is pretty weak if you have anyone in the passenger seat, especially big dudes. After closer inspection the inside the glovebox setup I so eagerly planned won't work at all. The full size PS2 is much too deep even if you cut the rear of the glovebox off cause there is a metal frame behind the dash right in the way... so... I am planning on finally picking up the slim PS2. I saw one again the other day and it's ridiculously small in comparison, shouldn't have to worry about placement at all, it'll fit basically anywhere. Other then that the setup is incredible and I try and refrain from playing while driving as much as possible...

i was thinking of the slimmer ps2 as well, but since it was top loading and not front, I couldn't figure out where i could put it. i actually put stuff in my glove box, so that was a no go. i certainly didn't want it visible from the outside. so i ended up going with the older ps2 and have it mounted in the trunk facing the rear seats. With the seats folded down, think it's the driver's passenger side, you can access it and switch discs. still, i think in the front dash is best. Or you could get a pair of psp's
