uh...that wouldnt work...Car battery is 12V dc... PS2 uses 120 AC..
and how would a power inverter not be integrated?.

i would want mine to be all 'integrated' and such so what i would do is cut the end of the power cable from the sony and connect it to the battery and put a switch on it. so u flick the switch , and it gets power from the battery. not completely sure, but im pretty sure you would need to throw a fuse on that power line a few inches from the battery.

I dono, that one looks pretty chincy. and with my experiences with harbor freight merchandise... I would highly recommend getting a much better one. I have one in my civic, pretty banged up but works great, and alsoquite a bit bigger in size. If I can remember to go look and see what brand and the rating on it I'll post it. My car is in a garage being stored for the winter.

i would put it under the seat, where theres at least some air flow. you don't want it cramped in under the dash. make some little bracket to keep it under there.

RE: putting a ps2?
is this a ps2 slim? if so, you don't need a inverter (waste to convert 12V DC to 120V AC, then the PS2 slim has anothertransformer that brings it back down to 8.5V DC), they have a 12V DC adapter that changes it to the 8.5V DC that the ps2 needs. but if its the old big playstation 2, then you need an inverter, unless you want to open it up......
here is what it looks like.....you could open up the part that plugs in your lighter and wire it directly.

plugs right in your ps2 slim.
