friend of mine has a 2000 civicex coupe, wants to know if car requires a mounting kit for a single din headunit... currently has stock honda cd player

Probably yea. Depending on the size of your headunit. I have only once found a radio and car that did not require a mounting kit (fit kit) for the head unit. So in answer to your question, yes you will needa fit kit.

no you wont need a kit.... just iso mount the radio and use the old pocket

I popped the original out
put the new one in, screwed it on both sides
that was pretty much it
all you'll need is a wiring harness

Unless his friend is feeling lucky, then he can hard wire the stereo to the car lol
