Well, it's NORMALLY blue or blue-white. To be safe, remove the HU and read the wiring diagram on the label. Then follow the remote wire from the HU and connect.

Be sure that you have the right wiring harness, because the climate control's harness is routed in the same general area and there happens to be a blue-white wire in that harness. (It's not like I had my remote wire wired to the wrong wire for the last 4 years or anything, and just realized it a week ago when I had the dash off.)

+1 for being safe.

Sometimes you can run your remote wire to your ignition wire, only if you somehow burn out your remote lead inside your head unit.

One time I installed a remote in my last car, and when i hid the wiring a screw managed to ever so gently rip into the edge of the remote, grounding it out and causing the head unit's remote lead on the board to fry. Once I located the short, i repaired it, and ran the remote to my ignition power to the head unit, and it works fine when the car is on, shuts off when the key is turned off.

But normaly a remote will be blue or blue-white.
