Removing Rear Speakers on 1997 Civic Ex
I have breifly looked at how to remove the speakers in the rear of my car, my front ones are already replaced, however I dont really know where to start to remove the rears. It looks like some screws from the top, but does that mean I have to take out my top cover off the rear speakers? Any help is great...

Yes you do. First remove the baby seat mount with a socket wrench. Then pull down the seats and the shoulder rests. You might find screw lined from left to right on the lip. But most of that top deck is just clipped it. A few tugs and pulls later it is off. Then take out your speakers and drop in new ones. Reverse proccess.... tadah! guess what.... your done.

Okay, now I see the clips and I see how it can just pop right up when i remove the back part which is held with clips, My next question is how do i remove those clips without breaking them? I want to paint the interior eventually, this is why I am being so stingy about breaking anything...
Thanks...

I forgot to mention that you need to pull that lip up from the metal. I also ment to kind of pop it up once you get your hand under there, NOT pull. Youll be fine, its one of the biggest no brainer parts to remove in the car. Just show its whos boss... dont go at it like a ragging alchohlic wife beater.

You talking about the upper lip right? Under the metal from the top of the rear speakers place, cus theres that lip which i saw I can lift up a lil, but the side lips on each side of the rear seats are holding all of it in, with 2 clips that look like circles...those are what i should just tug a lil, i think thats what your getting at...hit me back
