Default Removing Sap from Paint

I've looked online for some solutions, but I'm hoping some people here have some first hand experience with removing tree sap from a car. What's the best way to do it without ruining the clear-coat/paint? I just had my Civic painted a little over a year ago and I don't want to ruin it. I'll post some pictures of what I'm dealing with once I get my Civic back, today hopefully.

I'm talking about the clear/white stuff that gets pretty hard/solid. I had some on my windows and I used nail polish remover and it worked like a charm, but I don't dare to use that on the paint. I'll post some pics once I get my Civic back.

I'd almost recommend Goo-gone but I dunno if it's paint safe. Goo-gone is a solvent for stuff like adhesive from stickers and gum and ... sticky stuff. It's worth a shot

If that doesn't work you'll most likely have to have it buffed out..I have a lot in my paint that the previous owner let sit there for years and theres no other option but to buff it out...

Try rubbing the offending area with WD-40. Spray some on the sap, let it sit for a while and wipe off with a cloth diaper, which will help to eliminate lint. Repeat if necessary.

you can use goo gone on paint, i did when i debadged mine, i soaked a rag in it and let it set there for like 20 minutes, came back, and it still diddnt all come off. but no damage to paint.
