okay so i am putting my subs in my box in reverse. someone told me that i need to port the inside of my box. is this true?

usually ported box will give u a less tight bass....but its more complicated than that...especially with building a box....caraudiogroupforum.com

you dont need to, but it gives boomier bass. I have reverse subs in a ported box adn they bump real good

certain subs sound better ported and others sound better sealed. depends on brand and power rating

plus you should make sure your subs are designed to be reversed mounted

so by reversed mounted do you mean inverted? if so any sub can be inverted because the wave coming off the back of the sub is the oppisite of the front so the only difference is it's out of phase from the rest of your speakers wich doesen't matter cause they dont play the same frequency . sometimes subs sound better out of phase depending on the vehicle thats why on alot of high end decks thers a setting to switch the phase of the sub out.

not really for inverted subs cause you can just switch the positive and negative around to get them in phase, it's more for SQ in some cars iv'e heard a differnce not all though. with that option on the deck you can A/B it from
your listening position to see what sounds better
