it all depends on what kinda music your going to listen to with them. if rap, ported sounds way better. if rock or metal or something, sealed is better. i listen to rap so i like ported, but sealed still sounds good. its all personal opinion man

so by reversed mounted do you mean inverted? if so any sub can be inverted because the wave coming off the back of the sub is the oppisite of the front so the only difference is it's out of phase from the rest of your speakers wich doesen't matter cause they dont play the same frequency . sometimes subs sound better out of phase depending on the vehicle thats why on alot of high end decks thers a setting to switch the phase of the sub out.
thats why you are supposed to wire them oppisite, if they dont have the backward feature thing.... and yes, you speakers have their own woofer built in, you can notice a slight difference, depending on the volume and power, but usually you cant notice it.

i have my sub reversed and have it still hooked up + to + and - to -, not reversed or anything. Its in a sealed box, it was a slightly used sub, had it for well over a year not and it still bumps REALLY good.

Wow I think I will stick around here to give some audio knowledge lol.

Anyways, regular or inverted makes just about no difference.

As far as ported and sealed, well IMO ported @ 28-32hz owns sealed boxes .
