Default Sizing Help - interior speakers

I have a 96 civic dx sedan. I tried to install some 6 1/2" speakers into my front doors, but they are way to big. I've done a few searches, but couldn't find the exact size speakers that go in the front and rear of my car. If someone could tell me the sizes, it would be appreciated.

i actually checked out those sites but they said front was 6.5" and there's no way to fit the 6.5's i have into my front doors w/o cutting them up.

yea you will have to get something and make the whole bigger. a dremel should work just fine.

well, i put the 6.5's in there (cut out most of the space) but they are extremely tight and so they keep grounding out. also, i cant get the stock speaker grills on. i'd like to start over with some different speakers. would i have to buy the whole door panal or just the part with the speaker if i wanted to replace it?

Why would they change the speaker size in the 96-00's? my 93 hatch has 6 1/2" in the front doors

my friend has a 98 lx sedan and we replaced his with 6.5's and they fit like a glove, you must not be installing them correctly

I was checking this out last month sometime, on crutchfield, since its the easiest site to get some quick info from.

I noticed that even though they offer X amount of 6.5 choices, only 2 or 3 models showed up in my vehicle specific search. Some of the 2 and 3 way speakers have that massive tweeter section that could make it hard to get the factory cover back on, which is why I was guessing those were excluded from the search.

As for the depth and size of the hole, It should fit somehow. I haven't physically taken mine out yet to look, speakers are number 5 on my list of things to do. The only other option that I can see would be a
5 &1/4 inch speaker, but this may be too small to fit if you have cut some stuff out.

the magnet and tweeters are bigger than most w/the 6.5's i have. i'm going to a wreak yard tomorrow to get a fender (i bought the car w/the left fender dented) and i might get the speaker pannals if they are cheap. how much should i be paying for a fender?
