tearing it down
The 98 Civic I bought recently has a decent sub in the back. Unfortunately, decent isn't good enough for me, so I am choosing to tear it apart. Here's my predicament: I will be keeping the head unit for the time being, but swapping in my kicker sub and ampliphier(sp). The sub currently in the trunk is a bazooka which I believe has a self-contained amp, and does not accept rca connections, it has all the wires coming off the back of the head unit coming into it. Splicing wires is no problem for me, I've done it a gajillion times before, but I'm afraid to just start pulling bits of the dashboard apart to get to the back of that head unit to plug in the rcas. Is there a step by step on pulling the dash out already posted somewhere, or can someone point me in the right direction as how to tear it down without tearing it up?
Quickly...
-Flip down the glove box
-Remove panel under the steering wheel (3 screws)
-Remove power outlet panel (6 screws)
-Remove the 4 screws under that panel that hold the center consol in
-Pull out center consol (don't be affraid to yank) and unplug all the wires
Reverse to put it all back in.

go to a audio electronics store and they can pull it out for u or give u the right tools to pull it out....all it is is 2 pieces of metal tht u shove in the side of the HU tht grab the HU nad pull it out. u dont need to take ur whole dash out just to get to the HU.
