thermastat question

Question thermastat question

i am having problems with my therastat control in my car. I donno if thats what it is called but the little circle switch that controls the way the heat or the a/c is thrown (through the feet, defrost, face etc) anyone have an idea what it can be? the ac and heat work fine i can control the temperature but i cant control the way it comes out. so it comes out through everywhere all the time..thanks

Under normal operation, when you change the vents you want to use, a little motor somewhere moves the vents like inside the dash somewhere. I've never seen them, but the other day I had the car off and the key turned and I changed the vent and I could hear a motor moving something behind the dash. Perhaps that motor isn't working.

The 1992 and up have a motor to control where the air comes out.

any idea how to check for that or anything ? or what the piece is called so i can search up on it
