Default Upgrading, Opinions wanted

Ok, So Im upgrading my system and I have some questions. Kicker L7 ison the way. Audiobahn amp... Is this one ok? True 800watts I think. If I get It I will get a voltage meter and bassknob along with it.I will be getting a rockford fosgate amp kit. Also I want to know about Equlizers, I want one mostly for looks (so Idont want an expensive one, just one that lights up)because I think they look sweet.

I want to know your opinions on this amp along with the bass ****,the voltage meter, and EQ.

well it will sound just fine, though you will probably distort is a bit too much with an amp like that... it is hard to give opinions on things like this because each person has personal biases... IMO I think it will be fine for how much you spent... but I would kick the EQ but if you want one for looks... whatever, lol. also, you are overpowering your sub a little, I would suggest getting a 12" if you can, if not get a smaller amplifier.

Allright thanks. All Ive bought so far is a 10" l7 and a sealed box instead of ported and the little aluminum faceplate guard thing, so that cant be changed. Also Is there a way to setthat amp down a little so it wontbe pushing out the full 800 watts? I really like this amp so I just want to know if there is any way I can make it work well.I guess Ill leave the EQ out as itwould bejust for looks anyway, no point in wasting money. I was going to have a 12 but this will be going in my truck (chevy S10 extended cab)so I wanted a smaller one so I could still use the back seat/area.

Otherwise im thinking about this amp, 500w RMS ar 2 OHMs, class D

You have the idea. Looks to be a good setup. I like everything except the EQ, like basil said. It might actually hurt your system more than help it,e****ally with a cheap one. The Kicker will handle all 800watts with ease, I can tell you that from experience. But if you want to tuneit down because it might be too loud, your bass boost **** controlls your boost, I believe it has a0-16db range. The voltage meter isn't necessary, with that amp you shouldn't have to worry too much, I guess it's just another one of those "cool" things.

Edit: You'll be much happier with the 800w amp. You can always turn that bass boost **** down, and it's nice to have that little bit of extra power.

Allright thank you guys. Iorderedthe A8000T and the bass **** and I just wanted the meter for looks aswell anyway. I never knew the EQ could make my system sound worse. Thanks for all the help, didnt want to ruin a new setup and waste that money.

Setup was:
Pioneer Premeir DEH-P690UB
Rockford 8 guage amp kit
pyle crappy amp
Dual bandpass sub/box combo thing

Setup will be:
Pioneer Premeir DEH-P690UB
Rockford4 guage amp kit
Audiobahn A8000T
Kicker 10" L7 in a sealed box

Selling my old setup to my friend for $170 for the amp, amp kit, and subs.

I cant wait.

your L7 10 will love 800 watts..... i work at a kicker dealer i would know... it's actually easier to blow a sub with to little power than too much ( if theres such a thing LOL ).... just make sure your not clipping your amp and youll be fine

clipping is when a amp exceeds its power rails.... low voltage can cause it...... your amps output when hooked up to a scope should be nice and smooth... when clipping it sends a square wave to your speaker so it's like plugging your speaker into the outlet in a house..... not good..... just make sure you have a good deck with decent voltage on the rca preouts and when your bumpin your sub check the voltage at the amp with a multimeter.... than you should be ready to go
