Default what head unit?

theres so many out there it confuses me, i want it to be "iPod ready" and look cool. thats all i ask. i would prefere Alpine. do you think a alpine head unit would come with the iPod cable, i saw on soniceletronix i think some sort of cable that hooks to your iPod for $139. just a cable!

sorry never done anything with car audio before.

thanks

Yeah ipod ready doesnt necesarily mean you can just plug in the ipod. for my pioneer i had to buy an adapter thing that cost 100 bucks more. But i can control the ipod through the headunit

alpine has the best ipod interface - meaning it is the fastest and simplest to navigate through. if u dont need all the tuning capabilities and have an aftermarket speaker/amp/sub setup, go with the 9984,9885 - if u do have that stuff or plan on it, go with the 9886, 9887.

you can also get a cord that powers and connects your ipod so if you dont use it besides in your car you can leave it in there and not have to take it out the charge it all the time

if u have a lot of songs. alpine is currently the only company that has a quick search..... each preset key is i belive 20% through the alphabet.... so like 1 is A..... 2 is E etc. etc

Alpine CDA-9885 FTW.

Looks like the 9885 has been replaced by the 9886, which comes with the iPod interface cable
