Default What subs can I run?

Hey guys, I'm current'y running 2 amps.

I got this amp here----->http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=2959 This amp is powers all 4 speakers in the car.

This amp here--->http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=2961 Is running just 1 Rockford 10" P1.

Everything sounds pretty good, only thing is, is that I want to upgrade my sub.... I want alittle more boom.
What do you guys suggest? Can I run two 10"s??? Two 12"s??? They had a pretty good sale, 2 Rockford 12" P2's and box for $129.99. I diddn't get them though, wasn't sure if this amp could handle two 12's......How many watts should I be looking at here?

Thanks.

I have that exact same amp pushing 1 alpine type r 12, and thats a 500 rms sub, buts its only pushin the sub about halfway.

it depends on the subs that you get if the amp can handle it. you could run 2 P1 12s or 2 P1 10s, and they would run to full power and sound great. you could also get the 2 P2 12s, and it would run pretty good and leave you room for getting a bigger amp up to 500-600rms at a later time

Honda_guy, what type of enclosure is your single 10 in? 4ohm, or 4ohm DVC? The reason I ask about the voice coil confuguration is, your mono amp want's to see a 2ohm load to give you all it can. If your sub is in some generic off the shelf enclosure.... another thing hold'in it back. Build an encloser thats designed for the sub.

all are very good points cuz a good box can make all the difference, but then at the same time, one p1 10" is a single 4 ohm vc and is not ever gonna put out tons of sound no matter what kind of box it is in.IMO he should get one p2 10 or 12 DVC, wire it to 2 ohms, and build a ported box designed for the sub. this would sound great, work well with that amp, and be much more bass.

what it comes down to is that a P1 is a single 4-ohm voice coil, and the P2 is a dual 4-ohm voice coil which can be wired in parallel to 2-ohms. so the P2 at 2 ohms will be much more efficient, with results in much more sound. that combine with a well built ported box will sound good

JL Audio W-7's have a massive XMAX. Move tons of air. 1 W-7 can do more then most dual sub set-ups.

For a cheap good sounding dual 12" sub get a kicker Comp. And a decent mono amp with a CAP.

How about 2 of these? I'll probably only push them half way with my current mono amp right? http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...mp;catid=20119

I'm really not sure what ohm i'm running my single 10", it's in just a normal sealed bassworx box....

heres the thing about those subs, they are a DUAL VOICE COIL sub, so the only way to wire 2 of them into a class d mono, is at 1, 4, or 16 ohm. 16 is just dumb so ignore i even said that, that amp is only 2 or 4 ohm stable so 1 ohm is out of the question, and it is pushin about 116 rms at 4 ohm and at 14.4V, which split between 2 subs is 58 rms per sub....not gonna work. it is just not enough power.

if you really want to run those subs, you have to get a new amp, theres no question about it. you will need something that pushes at least 300 rms at 4 ohm, and preferably something around 500-600 rms at 4 ohm.

if you want to keep that amp, i say again what i recommended early, one P2 in a custom ported box
