Default Wire aftermarket alarm off of the B Harness

Since I am going to replace the radio and factory alarm in my 1997 Civic EX, does anyone see a problem with me using the 16P connector harness from the back of the factory radio to connect to my aftermarket alarm? I believe it has most of the triggers as well as some of the basic outputs I will need (i.e. lock all doors, unlock all doors, dome light, hood/trunk/door trigger, etc.). My project is still a couple of weeks out, but I was looking for other alternatives versus tapping the individual wires in the kick panel. I am also planning on placing the alarm where it will be a royal PITA to get to, versus the simple right under the dash approach that the so called professionals around here do.

This does look right, doesn't it?

Use the plug at the keyless module in the drivers kick.

Thanks for that suggestion. I found the module in the service manual, and I am going to follow your recommendation!

I am hoping to have all my parts in by this weekend so that I can install the Autopage RF-420LCD that I purchased to replace the failing factory alarm. I also purchased an Alpine CDA-9885 to replace the "I work when I want to" factory head unit. I have come to the conclusion that the intermittent Honda radio is probably the source of my keyless/alarm issues!

I do have one final question. When my wife purchased the car in 1997, she had the dealership install the optional Honda alarm module ($175 for the unit plus $175 for the install). Can I safely remove the Honda security control unit after I remove the factory radio or should I just leave it in there? I am going on the assumption that removing the radio will render the Honda alarm useless. Oh well, I will find out soon enough...
