Default autocross Houston SCCA regional event #12

yo.
I ran 4 times, finished 7th over 7 driver (

The best time of all class is 38 sec.
my best time is 52

My excuses: stock civic, auto tranny, STEELIE 14inch stock tires!!!!, 40degree cold (in HOUSTON) windy, and I found out that 1 lug nut fell off, 15 others are not tight enough (I bought a torque wrench from AUTOZONE $20<<<DONT BUY one there) torqued the lug @ 80, but still came out.(

Man, i slide like crazy around the cones, but no DNF and no CONEs!!!
Still, im sad, cuz im the worst of the worst, this is my second time autoxing

Quesion: 15inch rims (which brand?). which tires? I know i need to get the suspension done, but where do I start and what do I need?

Hey nice job man even though you were last lol. At least you had some fun (i hope). And the first thing I would do is get some performance springs/shocks. Just check any honda performance parts site and they should have some good ones for under 300 bucks. Thats where you should start at.

dun worry about coming in last, alot of ppl dont do well their first fews times obvously lol. no dnf and cones is pretty good tho, alot of ppl have troubles with keeping on the course cuz they get all confused with where the course is. after ur done with racing, always check/tighten ur lug nuts. its common for them to become loose after a race... as far as wheels go, if i were u i'd def. jump on these!. 15x8, light weight and look awesome. if they came out this time last year i would have gotten them in a heart beat. if not those i'd recommend the rota slips. for suspension i'd say get a good sway bar and shock/springs. if ur tight on money and want better handling, get the sway bar first.

are you running in the Novice class? do you have instructors? are they being helpful?

If you want to do well in your class, I HIGHLY recommend sticking with your STOCK wheel size, and buying some Falken Azenis RT-615 tires. Put your stock airbox back in, and run in H Stock.

im running sts.
instructors are good. but they are heavy and having a hard time fitting in my passenger seat.
what is airbox? H stock class?
I will definately get Falken Azenis RT-615! im thinking about the rota wheels, the black ones.
why should i run on stock wheels? It was sliding like CRAZY!!!

even if the instructors are heavy, u'll learn alot from them and when u get better, the extra 150+lbs wont matter. if u put ur stock intake back on u'll be put in H stock class i believe, which u might do better in than sts. wheels dont have much to do with traction, tires do. im sure u can fit the same tire on ur stock wheels as the rotas, and they wont weight much more either.
