You need a stiffer camera mount...

it was the car roto not the mount. the parking lot was terrible. it was all torn up and there was cracks and bumps everywhere.

everybody was complaining about it.

the course was extraordinarily technical. the fastest part of the course was about 35 mph and that was just on one straight. the rest of the course was right around 5 or 10 miles an hour.. 15 if you were lucky.. then you had to slow down again. im working on a course map... (had to make my own cuz they didnt provide us with one.)

and the strange thing is.. as the day went on.. the course got slicker. you'd think all the rubber from everyone's tires around the curves would help you stick. but it made you slide like a mother fcker. some turns i was actually drifting my gti around.

edit: heres the course map.. i tried to make it as close to scale as possible.

i've never had a problem with putfile, thats why i use it. usually takes me about a min or 2 to upload a vid. looks like some good fun. i was gena mention the pavement, does look pretty bad..the reason it prolly got slicker run after run was because ur tires were prolly getting too hot. alot of the more serious racers bring water sprayers and spray their tires inbetween runs to keep them cool. also could very well be ur tire pressure. what psi did u run at?

Not sure if you'll see any pics from me as my wife wasn't there to take pics. I am more than satisfied with this event. Loads of fun, plus I only got off course once and it was cause I slip past the turn in point...overall I am outclassed in STX until my suspension is done. Those scoobies sure pwnt Roto. Understeer and torque limiter in 1st and 2nd gears plus my crappy tires...let's just say it was challenging.

civicexracer. yes that probably could be it.. that my tires were too hot. (i need new ones..) i ran 37 psi in the front and 39 in the back. (thats what i set it at in the morning. but i didnt adjust it all day. because i had to borrow someones tire guage and compressor n i didnt want to keep bugging them for it.)

roto: the course i ran yesterday was the definition of challenging. definitely favored very small, very light, rwd and awd cars. because they could slide their tail end around to get a straight line for the next gate.. (even tho they werent supposed to.. cuz every autocrosser knows the first words of the drivers meeting is always "this is not a drift course" lol)

the parking lot we used was relatively small, so the course had to be tight and they had to control the speed. i had fun.. but i was not a big fan of the course..

try switching the pressures around, 39 front and 37 rear. u might like the way the car handles that way. thats usually what i run on warm days. a small course is great not matter fwd, awd, rwd. u can get the rear end to slide out on a fwd and not lose time doing so. when u carry enough speed into a turn and brake, the rear will slide out naturally, and can be very helpful when coming out of the turn. just be sure that it dosnt swing out too much.
