Default Animation-How to

Yah I found out a really easy way to do what I did in my sig with animation so I figured I'd post a tutorial cause im really bored. I'm not that great with directions but I tried to be as detailed as possible. Sorry if I post doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Easy quick animation in Photoshop Cs2

Layers
1. Start with the picture you want to be animated
2. Change the background layer to layer 0 by double clicking the layer
3. Delete everything around the object you want to be animated
4. Duplicate the layer for as many frames as you want ex.(I have four frames in my mine =four layers)
5. You now have 4 layers with the same object now click on the first layer and drag it to the furthest point in your animation
a. think of it as the last frame in your animation
b. ex. the frame in mine where the car is just a blur is my first layer
6. Now click on the second layer and drag it in place behind the last object
a. ex its the car behind the one that is totally blurry
7. Repeat steps 5 & 6 for as many layers you have, your last layer will actually be your first frame in the animation
8. Now you should have it layed out right, there should be 4 cars in front of you spaced out

Motion blur
Now that you have all your layers you can put on a motion blur to make it look like it is moving.

1. Click on your last layer (which is your first frame)
a. click on filter at the top of the screen go down to motion and then go to motion blur
b. since this is the first frame you don't need that much blur so don't move the distance slider to much (the angle adjustment is the way the motion is blurring twards)
c. when your satisfied click ok
2. Click the second to last layer because your working your way backwards and repeat steps 1.a
a. this is your second frame so you'll want it a little more blurry so move the slider more
b. click ok when you like it
3. Work your way to the first layer repeating the last to steps making one after another more blurry
4. You can also mess with the blending options on each layer to give it more effect or add any other effects you want to each layer

Animation
Time to animate your layers
1. You got your layers and there blurred
2. Go up to the menu bar on top and go to window and click on animation and a long palette should stretch across the bottem of your screen
a. on the is palette should be what you have in your work space above
3. Click on the small arrow that lets you see the options for the palette
a. it should be in the top right corner of the palette
4. Now click on make frames from layers
5. After you click this you should see each individual layer from above on the animation palette
6. There is a play button on the animation palette click it to see how you like it
7. Under each frame in the animation palette will display how many seconds the frame will be exposed you can change this setting to slow down your animation
8. After messing around with the time settings or whatever else you discover its time to save it

Saving
1. I found probably the easiest way to save is to go to file save then go to save for web
2. When the next dialog box comes up make sure you are saving it as a .gif instead of .jpeg
a. in the bottem left corner will display how many kb (size) it is
3 Click save

You are now done
