Default alternative to california duster??

i need something to remove dust that won't leave the wax residue.
eventhough I brush my car during the morning when its cool, it still leaves an ugly residue against my black car and seems like it has taken the shine away from my wax...
help and thanks

california duster will do this for about the first 10 times you use it after that it should work flawlessly

Microfiber towels are awesome. If it's a bit tougher, use some instant detailer, and if you've got the time follow up with some spray wax.

so the towels will wipe the dust right off and i can just wash the towels later?
what brands of spray on wax or whatever, do you reccomend? usually i just like to clean the car a little when i warm it up every morning for 3 minutes or so.
I would also like to know step by step on what to use, in what order for max protection
(on a black car) including clay bar and brands of wax or whatever.
thanks

WITH A BLACK CAR.......I WOULD NEVER WIPE IT DOWN WITH ANYTHING! IT CAUSES MICRO SWIRLS IN THE PAINT THAT WILL STAND OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB. I KNOW ITS JUST NOT RIGHT DRIVING A DIRTY CAR AROUND BUT I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR TWELVE YEARS AND IM STILL ROLLING AROUND WITH THE STOCK PAINT GETTING LOTS OF COMMENTS. WAIT FOR THE WEEKEND AND JUST WASH THE CAR AND KEEP IT WAXED AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE.

NO NOT EVERY WEEKEND! LOL! EVERY OTHER WEEKEND IS HOW I DO IT, BUT EVERY WEEKEND ISN'T SUCH A BAD IDEA EITHER. THEN FOR SURE YOU'LL KNOW ITS CLEAN AND READY TO ROLL EVERY DAY!

If you only want to spend 3 minutes cleaning your car you cannot expect perfection. I think the cali duster would be most effect 3 minute job. My brother details at a Ferrari/Porsche dealership and he brings home this water free car wash. That stuff is sick, but I dont know if you could buy it.
