may i ask WHY? you going to do some painting or just a new wax?
if your going to do some painting then some good solvent cleaner should work great.
if your just rewaxing i would use some clay bar.

That Meguiers Clay bar kit works great, especially on dark cars. Not sure what color your car is, but if its dark colored, Klasse Glaze and wax is fantastic and helps out with clear coat scratches and swirls quite a bit.

tech wax is a man made synthetic wax that last longer shines better after repeated washing .carnauba wax is a natural plant derived substance .carnauba does work but it won't last as long also it breaks down in heat melting into gel coats usually used on carbon fiber products turning them a hazy yellow.
