How do you get new paint to shine almost like it was freshly painted from the dealer?

 

um, a good hand wash, nice detailing, wax, maybe a professional buffing, and cali duster...lol
some new paint wouldn't hurt either...

 

I dont get it, what are you trying to ask? Does your car have new paint? Or is it 10 year old paint that you want to look like new?

What are the defects in the paint that you're looking to get rid of?

 

I'm trying to repaint my rear bumper just so it looks presentable. It looked like crap before. I think that i might be missing a step when i'm painting.

I'm just repainting the rear bumper milano red. I primered, painted, and sanded it lightly, but it has no shine. How do I get it to shine. Do I need to spray it with some finishing paint? I already tried a clear coat, but that didn't work. Maybe i'm just doing it wrong?

you need a few layers of clear on it to protect it from wax jobs and oxidation, plus you know milano red is a 3 stage paint, so i hope you painted it correctly.

 

You only put one layer of clear coat??

 

Sorry for my ignorance, but what exactly is three stage paint.
