I've heard that certain shampoos do "work," but they are not good for the long haul unless you re-apply wax right away. The chemicals that get the grease and what not out of your hair, tend to eat away at the wax, leaving the paint vulnerable to fading, chipping, etc..

The main problem with regular shampoo, is that it doesn't contain the necessary contents for removing dirt properly. Sure, it foams up real nice, but it spreads the dirt around rather than breaking down and absorbing it, which can leave you with swirl marks or even scratches.
agreed! ..no matter what web site you go to or what you look up on washing your car you will see they say NOT to use shampoo, its does exactly what forty says ^^....i used mothers shampoo but now i use black magic and i think it works alot better., it really shines and lasts a long time..and it smells really good.. BUY car wash!!

Try "Head and Shoulders" shampoo and see if it keeps the snow off your car.

hm, thats the first time I've heard of using a shampoo to wash the car. But as Sniper said, if its ok on a human, should be just fine on a car. Get the best, Pantin ProV shampoo and conditioner in 1

shampoos are designed to leave certain chemicals behind in your hair, so that might not be too good for you car. But, if you use those shampoos that are designed not too, they have em at dreadhead I think, it might be different.
