I recently bought a 2002 LX and I read some place that my 02 Civic LX is already pre-wired for keyless. All I need is to buy the Remote and Program. Is this true? How much is the remote and how to program? Is this a dealer thing or can it be a DIY?

that should be true. on the majority of cars it cheaper to put the same wiring harness in regardless of what is getting connected it is a possible diy but to make it look good and to always have the ability to have a warranty on it i would choke it up and get a dealer to install it.

You are absolutely correct. I posted the same query here couple of months back for my 2000 Civic LX. I got a keyless fob from ebay for $10 and programmed it myself today. It is working great. So, you just need to buy the correct keyless device (FCC ID must match). I can send you the programmming instructions, if needed.
