i have a 1990 civic dx, and i put a b18b1 out of a 1994 integra in it. it idles, and runs fine, but if i get on it it cuts out, and when i let off the gas and press it lightly, its fine. it still has the stock d15b2 fuel pump. sometimes when i try to start it the main relay just clicks instead of the fuel pump going. but its not the relay because i tried it in my friends hatch, with a b18 and it worked fine. do i need a fuel pump out of a n integra, or could it be something else. thanks.

 

Due to the intermitten nature of this problem, it could be an electrical short. Time to whip out that trusty rusty multimeter.Or it might be the pump itself seeing as its 17 years old. A good way to approach this, is try to figure out what its not.

 

could it be because i dont have a fuel pressure cut off solenoid. i just bought one from a 1992 integra, and i am going to wire it up, and hook up the vacuum lines, and hopefully that fixes the problem.

 

i put the fuel pressure cut off solenoid in. and that didnt fix it. so iput ina new fuel pump, and i cleaned the ground wire on the pump bracket. it didnt do it at all yesterday but today it did it again, and i noticed that when it does it my tach goes crazy, bouncing up and down, but when i let off the gas it goes to where it should.could this be the distributor?
