1990 Civic DX ECU...simple Q
Hi everyone. First post.
I'm an old guy with many busted knuckles, so I decided to take a chance on a beater DX previously owned by a DIYer. Here is my Q:
Can a 37820-PM5-A59 work with a manual trans?
My DX has off idle issues (dead miss; acts like you are turning the ign sw on/off....but not under load...only off idle) and when going WOT under load, the headlights get REALLY bright and it acts like it quits firing until you return to a "normal" throttle position. Weird.
- I checked the TPS. It is linear. IIRC it ranged from ~4k to .7k
- The batt is new, the charging system is okay
- The distributor is new...replaced by the previous DIYer (although he did put the fuel filter in backwards...scary)
- The Main injector housing has a small crack in it, right where the connector plugs in, but it ohms out....the resistance was 1.8 ohms, the AUX injector was ~9 ohms.
- Haven't checked the MAP yet.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your time!
