so i was looking into getting a chipped ecu for my 94 civic ex to hel give it some more power and help the vtec kick harder let me know what u guys think

Vtec engagement should be smooth, not hard. lol

Chipped ECU will not really help you. Pick up something worthwhile, like a Hondata system to be able to actually tune the car, not throwing in a chip which basically acts as a resistor and adds fuel in the upper rpms. Also, with a chip, you have no idea what is going on.. since you didn't make the tune. Good luck.

Sounds like you need to research a little more. I can guarantee that this question has been asked over 1,000 times when you combine all of the Honda forums on the interwebs.

yeah it was just a thought and with the vtec it just dosent hit like it should i cnt realy here it kick in like other vtec cars ive driven

Were the other VTEC cars you have driven SOHC, or DOHC? Singles are much more subtle.

i drove my buddys 97 ex with chipped ecu and b16 engine and once the vtec hit u could rly tell and another with a newer d16 mines got about 170xxx on it but i cant barly tell when it hits
