95 civic dx fuel/electrical problem

Default 95 civic dx fuel/electrical problem

95 civic dx SOHC
engine will turn over but no fuel
when i turn the key, sometimes the pump will not prime, therefore wont start
pump is fine i checked it and tested it
my question is, where is the relay under the dash? how do i test it?
would be greatly appreciated, its my daughters car.

The diagram below should help. The fix is to replace or resolder the main relay (see link in my signature).

so if i am not misunderstanding you, because the pump does work sometimes it is a bad relay?

The main relay of 5th generation Civics is a well known problem. Given that your fuel pump is fine but intermittently doesn't work, the main relay is the prime suspect -- it provides power to the fuel pump. I think a new main relay runs $35-$40. If you can solder, then the cost of repairing the main relay is much less.
