96 manual ex ecu question

for the best performance from your b16a you need a p30ecu and a obd2a to obd1 jumper harness. you can also use the p28. i also have a b16a.
your ecu is setup where the motor has a crank position sensor, your motor doesnt have that they have a cam position sensor.(guessing your motor is a obd1)

Just an FYI, if you do get the OBD1 ecu you can forget about passing emissions. No idea where your'e from, but if you happen to be lucky to live in a state where they don't test emissions than by all means - do it.

This place can help you go from ODB2a to ODB1: http://phearable.net/
Sadly, I only used them to program ELD out of the ODB1 ECU that I purchased from them. It really sucked having my 175 amp alternator limited to 12.5 volts on a 2000 watt RMS sound system with the stock ODB2a ECU in my 1997 Civic.
