new to this forum. here is the story, my sis drives with no oil and blows motor (97 lx,5speed) so i put a motor for my buddies shop in. drives fine but had a idle problem that ive read about. idle bounced from 1-2k, this eventually fixed itself as i read this adaptive learning ecu would. now new problem, idle is so low when u first start it will shut off immerdiately. u have to step on the gas to start it and hold pedal down until the car warms a bit or it will not idle. as soon as its warm it idles fine, ive checked the timing with a light and even switched iacv from her old motor. i have a p0123 for tp and a p1122 air fuel metering code. i read a little how the coolant can affect some of these sensors, any help would be appreciated.

 

TPS sensor will do just that if its not throwing a code mine did the same thing, is it throwing a CEL if so check it and look it up. Is this the same engine? does this have the correct ecu these are all possible problems.

 

Clean or replace the EGR valve.
